Training and Education

Non-horse owners and especially local children can be encouraged to come and learn about the fundamentals of caring for a horse as they get to know a horse’s habits, wants and needs. This is a positive form of education for any young person as many educators will report and have reported. In this way THE GREYTON HORSE RETREAT can give back to the community by coaching the next generation. THE GREYTON HORSE RETREAT aims to educate and train the youngsters who currently ride the horses in an unsophisticated way so that the horses can be protected and nurtured. Youth will be encouraged to understand the importance of animal care as well as the costs involved. This will form part of community development. Partnering with local schools by providing field trips and taking horses to schools can initiate and introduce students to potential career possibilities too.
